Glenn Bodish is originally from the Lehigh Valley in Eastern Pennsylvania and currently lives in Illinois. He is an award winning artist and has nationally exhibited and published his work. Glenn holds an MFA degree in painting from the University of Montana, a BFA from Southern Oregon University and an AAS from Luzerne County Community College. He has worked in the fields of commercial art and photography, museum management, education and fine art for the past 40 years. Glenn is currently an Associate Professor of Art and the Art Gallery Director at Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, Illinois.

Glenn’s work is an exploration of mark making and practices automatic drawing techniques originated by the Surrealists. His approach to making art draws inspiration from and intuitively responds to the cultural and social milieu of our epoch. Glenn’s drawing and painting techniques are influenced by the works of Franz Kline, Mark Tobey and Keith Haring. His work playfully surveys the balance between order and chaos, growth and entropy, independence and interconnections.

Hear @glennbodish speak about his work “Carbon Sequestration Series #11” through our free app available to download at app.cuseum.com/rockford-art-museum and be sure to come down to see it in person before the Rockford Midwestern Biennial closes on January 31st.

Galleries reopen on January 21st. RAM is open Thursday through Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM and remains free until January 31st.
