Did you know there are over 100 different descriptions of snow in Japan?

Our current snow has been Zarame-yuki(粗目雪) defined as course mesh snow. This is the kind of snow that partially melts and refreezes at night. After going back and forth a few times, it becomes a lovely crystal ball that resembles sugarcane.

I know I’ll be looking at snow differently now, how about you?
