Zoom Lunch Lectures

Join Midway Village Museum staff and local historians for interesting presentations over your lunch hour via Zoom. These programs are open to all, and free as a benefit to our Midway Village Museum members. If you are not available to attend via Zoom contact Caitlin Treece, Educator, at 815-397-9112, ext. 106 or email educator@midwayvillage.com for alternative options.

Sock Monkey History - first lecture in the series!

Wednesday, January 6 . Noon

Registration Deadline: 4 pm Monday, January 6

Some people find them cute, others find them creepy. Everyone either had one, or has a parent or grandparent that did. The Sock Monkey is internationally recognized. But few people know of its tie to Rockford. At this presentation you will learn how this simple sock was an important part in the development of the city of Rockford and its last legacy.

Museum Members should call the museum at 815-397-9112, and speak to a Front Desk representative.

Non-Member Cost:

If you are not a Museum Member, the cost is $7 per person, per lecture, and you may call the museum to register at 815-397-9912 or go to the museum's website at www.midwayvillage.com.

Following registration to each lecture, you will receive the Zoom link through your email address following the registration deadline each Monday prior to the Wednesday program.
