We’re ending our spring season with a ‘bang’. The Firelight Dimmers, a four-piece Rockford, IL lounge band began when lead vocalist Nickee Aldana reached out to her longtime friend David Setiawan, a jazz trombonist and pianist, with the idea to start a band that pays homage to the lounge music of years past. Aldana and Setiawan are accompanied by Ken Toot on stand-up bass and Keith Nelson on drums. For each musician, the Firelight Dimmers is a source of enjoyment outside of their careers and an opportunity to re-invigorate the local music scene with elements of jazz. Covering songs from the 1920s to 1950s, the band is known regionally for their renditions of “It Don’t Mean a Thing”, “All That Jazz”, “Mack the Knife”, “Fly Me to the Moon”, “Moondance”, and “Going Out of My Head”. The Firelight Dimmers and Aldana’s sweet serenade and vintage appearance have secured a hefty following throughout the Stateline, playing private events and public shows at venues across the region. Their shows garner crowds of fans new and old, occasionally incorporating guest vocalists and musicians. To learn more about Firelight Dimmers, visit http://www.thefirelightdimmers.com/ Seating is limited, so please arrive early. Please enter from the west door adjacent to the parking lot.
