Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center offers an exciting range of live musical performances, a vibrant and growing Youth Music Program, and numerous musical performance and education opportunities for adults. The Mendelssohn PAC campus includes the new Mendelssohn Hall (406 N. Main St.) Emerson House (420 N. Main St.), and Starr Center (415 N. Church St.) Our administrative offices are located in Mendelssohn Hall. We offer an annual Mainstage Concert Series of live performances by local, national, and international guest artists, and our Music On Main Series of brief and intimate after-work concerts by local and regional musicians. We also have a Jazz at Emerson Series of after-work performances, strictly devoted to jazz! Charlotte’s Web for the Performing Arts became a division of the Mendelssohn PAC in 2012, featuring an annual concert series of local, regional, and national folk musicians. The Rock Valley Children’s Choir and Kantorei, the Singing Boys of Rockford are Mendelssohn PAC’s partners in residence. Our Youth Music Program includes concerts, recitals, outreaches, master classes, workshops, the High School Starr of Excellence Awards, and the Chandler Starr Miller Scholarship Competition - now in its 52nd year! We also have several adult performing ensembles, including the award-winning Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra and Mendelssohn Chorale, Art Song Project and Piano Club. Along with all our musical opportunities, we offer beautiful rental venues perfect for weddings, receptions, showers, parties, and meeting of all sizes.
